I’m back in Seattle now… and, it feels good to be home.
The biggest event yesterday was that it appears no freighter is coming for my boat, which remains trapped in Costa Rica. I can’t really comment on it, but you can imagine that the shipping company and I are in frequent communication. There is still a chance of a freighter, but I’m making plans as though our only choice is to make the run on the boats own bottom.
Jeff, my delivery skipper, has assembled crew, and is in contact with my weather router. We’re going to start watching for safe windows to move the boat. I may go along for a portion of the run, but probably not. My guess is we’ll start moving the boat around Oct 1st, weather permitting.
I’ll report more as I know it…
Meanwhile, now that I am home, it is time to start thinking about next summer’s cruising plans again. Roberta and I are having dinner tonight with the owners of a Nordhavn 62 we’ll be traveling with next summer to Japan.
