As usual, finding a slip for my boat is making me crazy. I prepaid a slip at the new marina in San Jose Del Cabo, for three years, knowing that my boat would be unlikely to be there for more than a few months. I figured that at least I’d have a place to go to when needed. Well, the time has come, and it isn’t clear what will happen. The marina is there, and looks incredible, but my slip is still not in place. They say “any day now.” They also say I am unlikely to have power for a while. My boat is a power pig, and needs the generator run for a couple hours every 12 hours, if not on shore power. I can probably shut a lot of things off and make this two hours every 24, but I doubt I’ll get it beyond that, without emptying the refrigerators, freezers, etc. The boat will be in Cabo for six weeks before heading south to Costa Rica. It sounds like even though I have a home here in Cabo, I’ll be spending a lot of time on the boat charging batteries, and emptying the refrigerator. Assuming, my slip gets put in place….
